AUBURN, AL (WSFA) -

One Toomer's Drugs employee has worked her way to being a favorite.

"She is just one of those bubbly people that everyone loves to be around," said Michael Overstreet, Toomer's Drugs Manager.

Some would say that she's more than just an employee.

"Maddie is family, and when family is hurting you do whatever you can to help them out," Overstreet said.

Helping out is exactly what Toomer's Drugs is doing, and in a major way.

Madalyn McCormick had to leave Toomer's Drugs after being diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Toomer's Drugs is rallying behind her with a fundraising event to help her pay her medical expenses.

All of the money that Toomer's Drugs makes on July 22 and 23 will go directly to Madalyn. Employees will also be donating all of their tips to the event.

Madalyn says that she was shocked when she found out about how Toomer's Drugs wanted to help.

"It just feels good when people care about you to do something like that for you," McCormick said.

People that aren't able to attend the event in downtown Auburn can purchase gift cards and other items, or just make a donation through the Toomer's Drugs website from July 20-23.
