Two dead in overnight wreck near Tuscumbia

(WAFF) -

A two-vehicle crash Saturday claimed two lives. 

Don Grissom Kimbrough, 63, of Tuscumbia, was killed when the 2015 Volkswagen he was driving collided with a 2003 Chevrolet driven by Philip Lee Pounders, 62, also of Tuscumbia. 

Kimbrough, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Pounders was pronounced dead at a local hospital a short time later. 

The accident occurred at 8:40 p.m. on Hawk Pride Mountain Rd., five miles south of Tuscumbia. 

Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
