MADISON, AL (WAFF) -

An hourslong standoff in Madison ended when police realized they had been sent to the wrong home.

Police say the home they had surrounded was empty and the suspect had called them from his mom's house in Athens.

Huntsville and Madison police went to a home on Wall Triana Boulevard around 11 p.m. Thursday after reports the man shot at a woman. When police got to the trailer, they were under the impression the man had barricaded himself inside.
