JACKSON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

New cabins will soon be available for rent near the lake in Scottsboro. They're located at the Jackson County Park.

It's not just cabins. A new restaurant is coming to the park. A new dock is being built over the water for restaurant goers to enjoy.

After months of work, nine new cabins are ready to rent at Jackson County Park starting Monday.

Park officials say Memorial Day is already booked and interest is high.

The commission began the project as a way of increasing revenue to the county and to give residents a place to enjoy.

The park hasn't had a restaurant since 2010 but now KC's BBQ is moving in.

"He's got a restaurant right now. He's got a good following so we're hoping that's going to help our business here, I think, with the cabins and, in turn, help his business," said Jackson County Park manager Carl Barnes.

The restaurant is expected to be open by Memorial Day.
