HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Suspended Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore plans to run in the upcoming special election for Alabama's seat in the U.S. Senate.

Moore made his campaign plans official during a news conference on Wednesday.

Lat week, Moore said he had to talk to his family before making a decision, but many believed the man who's been twice removed from the Alabama Supreme Court is not done with his political career just yet.

Moore is seen as a hero by Christian Conservatives for his defiance of federal law, first refusing to remove a ten commandments monument, and secondly telling state clerks to not issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

Moore was twice elected and twice removed as Alabama Chief Justice.
