MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

The Madison-Morgan County HIDTA Drug Task Force (STAC) charged four Huntsville men with drug trafficking over the weekend.

STAC agents say they stopped two vehicles involved in a marijuana distribution organization on April 14. Agents say they found a small amount of marijuana, Xanax, a stolen handgun and $23,000 in cash.

As a result, officers obtained a search warrant for a home on Sanderson Road in Meridianville. The search warrant was served shortly after the traffic stops.

Agents say they seized approximately 28 pounds of high-grade marijuana in two duffel bags. The drugs have an estimated street value of $250,000.

Agents also seized a handgun during the search.

Agents charged Tavaris Battle, 42, Nandi Biba, 31, Patrick Kurilla, 31, and Sanvel Betrosian, 35, with trafficking marijuana.

The case is still under investigation and could result in additional charges.
