rue21 closing most locations in the Tennessee Valley

The Pennsylvania-based clothing retailer rue21 announced over the weekend that it would be closing nearly 400 stores across the country.

The company made the announcement via Facebook on Saturday.

Rue21 has more than 1,200 stores across the United States.

This closure will shutter nearly a third of their brick-and-mortar stores nationwide, including most of their locations in the Tennessee Valley.

Stores closing in the area:

Heritage Square, 7696 Highway 72 NW

Valley Bend at Jones Farm, 2722 Carl T Jones Drive SE

French Farms Pavilion, 229 French Farms Boulevard

River Oaks Shopping Center, 1208 Huntsville Highway

Scottsboro Marketplace, 24833 John T Reid Parkway

Cullman Shopping Center, 1200 Cullman Shopping Center NW

Lawrenceburg Center Shopping Center, 2132 North Locus Avenue  (Tenn.) 

Remaining open:

The Crossings of Decatur, 1241 Point Mallard Parkway SE

Big Springs Village, 11611 US Highway 431 South

Regency Square Mall, 301 Cox Creek Parkway 

Gadsen Mall, 1001 Rainbow Drive
