It’s a move that could change the landscape of college football recruiting.
The NCAA approved on Friday morning to create an early National Signing Day in December. Recruits could still wait until February if they choose. However, this gives players a chance to sign in December and end the recruiting process.
This would also help coaching staffs as they would be able to concentrate on uncommitted prospects during the month of January.
The rule still has to be approved by the Conference Commissioners Association. They will meet in June and the expectation is that they will approve the rule.
The new signing date would start this year and fall on December 20th.
