ALBERTVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Drug task force agents make a major drug bust in Marshall County. It involves more than a pound of methamphetamine.

Drug agents say they received word a man who was from out of state was in the area with drugs. They checked it out and found a lot of drugs.

29-year-old Abraham Lopez is facing three counts of trafficking methamphetamine and a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Drug agents say he was first stopped while walking in the parking lot of a downtown Albertville Mexican restaurant. They say he was found in possession of 119 grams of methamphetamine, which is four times the trafficking weight.

Drug agents say they obtained a search warrant for a home on Albert Street in Albertville where he was staying. Agents say they found a small amount of meth in a backpack there but then found just over a pound at the home.

Lopez is currently being held in the Marshall County Jail on just over a $1 million bond.
