Grissom basketball coach Jamie Lee is leaving the school to accept a position with the Alabama High School Athletic Association.
Lee, previously a teacher and coach at Decatur High School, was hired at Grissom in 2016.
He was named the Decatur High School Teacher of the Year for 2001-02 and coached the 2002 Class 6A state championship team.
"I am very excited about the opportunity to work with the AHSAA," Lee said. "I have the utmost respect for the AHSAA's staff and executive director...I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching and coaching, especially the interaction with the students. However, I am now looking forward to the new challenges ahead."
Lee starts his new position of Assistant Director/Director of Special Programs on June 1.
