(WAFF) -

A house in Huntsville caught fire Friday morning. The incident occurred just after 10 a.m. at 504 Eastbrook Drive off of Academy Drive.

The two people living in the home were asleep when the fire broke out. They say there were awoken by a loud pop. When they went to investigate the noise, they opened the door to the den and smoke poured out.

One side of the home sustained significant damage from the blaze.

The occupants of the home were renters, reportedly uninsured.

Capt. McKinzie of the Huntsville Fire Department said the Red Cross will assist the tenants getting back on their feet.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
