MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

For the second straight year, John Petty can call himself the best high school basketball player in the state of Alabama. He won his second Alabama Sports Writer Association Mr. Basketball award at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Montgomery Tuesday.

Petty, a University of Alabama commit, helped lead Mae Jemison to the AHSAA Class 5A state title this season.
