Gas stations robbed in Madison County, Ardmore

Two gas stations in nearby areas were robbed within a few hours of each other Monday afternoon.

The first is at a Marathon gas station in in the 500 block of Highway 53 in Madison County. Details of that robbery have yet been released.

The second robbery was at the Chevron on Main Street in Ardmore, Tennessee. The police chief said the employee was outside on break when the suspect forced her inside at gunpoint, robbed the store then fled on foot. No one was injured.

The suspect covered his face with a red bandana, police said. 

The Limestone County Sheriff's Office used their helicopter to try and help find the suspect. The Giles County, Tennessee Sheriff's Office is also supporting the  investigation.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 275 pounds. He was last seen wearing black pants, a black shirt, and a black hat with a gold star on it.

Anyone with information on either of these crimes is asked to call law enforcement.
