Dallas (Mississippi News Now) -

Itty Bitty with the biggest shot of them all. The final hour of March featured not just the biggest moment in Mississippi State history but one of the legendary tales in the NCAA Women's Tournament.

Morgan William's buzzer beater in overtime gave the Bulldogs a 66-64 victory over the four-time defending national champions UConn. MSU snapped the Huskies 111 game winning streak in style to advance to their first national championship game.

The Shot delivered plenty of emotions and fascinating quotes from maroon and white players, and head coach Vic Schaefer.

Morgan William: "Well, Coach called the timeout. He was like, Morgan, you can win the game. That's what he say. Morgan, you can run this play. It wasn't originally for me, but the way they had guarded, I told Dom (Dillingham) to get the ball and take it down the court. Time was just ticking. I knew the last -- end of regulation, I went for a layup, they blocked it. I was like, she probably think I'm going to do it again. I got in the space, I jumped up, I made the shot. When I made the shot, I was in shock. I'm still in shock. I'm over here like, Hey, I just won the game. My teammates are just so happy and proud of me. I can't thank them enough because I can't be playing the way I'm playing without them. I feel like we earned respect tonight. You know, people didn't believe in us. But it didn't faze us. We just had to go out there and play. I feel like it showed we're better than what everybody thinks.

Vic Schaefer: "What an unbelievable, gutsy performance that no one in the country, including all of y'all, probably thought could happen. And that's okay. But we knew it could happen. You see, you have to be careful when you start talking about people that you really don't know about. If all you're doing is evaluating what you see on TV, and you don't really know what's inside somebody's breastplate, you better be careful about evaluating them."

Victoria Vivians: "It was personal. People doubted us. He (Vic Schaefer) was like be a team, be confident, and just play your game. You don't know what's ahead, anything is possible."

Blair Schaefer: "Oh my God, it was amazing. I was just so happy for her (William). As soon as that ball went up, I was like this is going in, this is going in. I am so happy. I just know how hard she works and how she puts us on her back so many times. So we just have so much confidence in her."

Dominique Dillingham: "It's a huge win, but in the back of our minds we're like one more! We need one more. We're not satisfied. We didn't come this far for nothing. We want to win it all and we know we can win it all."

It will be an all SEC matchup for the biggest prize in women's hoops. MSU will face South Carolina for the 3rd time this season. Tipoff is Sunday afternoon at 5pm on ESPN.
