The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has confirmed a sighting of the 15-year-old victim in an ongoing Amber Alert, along with the 50-year-old man believed to have kidnapped her earlier this month.

TBI officials say a tip led investigators to view surveillance images from a Walmart on East I-240 Service Road in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma from the afternoon of March 15. Officials say the people in the images are confirmed to be Tad Cummins and Elizabeth Thomas shopping at the store.

Investigators say Cummins used cash to purchase various food items but did not purchase anything else of significance. The surveillance images of Cummins and Thomas are the first obtained by investigators since the alleged kidnapping on March 13.

These images were released on Friday.

The video shows Cummins appears to have altered his altered appearance to darken his hair. The same images show Elizabeth may currently have red hair. Efforts to determine what vehicle they were traveling in remain ongoing.

This information was released a day after a false sighting of the pair in Collierville, Tennessee. A man and his daughter were mistaken for Cummins and Thomas.

Thomas disappeared on March 13 and is believed to have been kidnapped by 50-year-old Cummins, a former teacher at her school in Maury County, Tennessee. The school district in Maury County terminated Cummins in the wake of an ongoing investigation into alleged inappropriate contact he had with Thomas at the school earlier this year.

Cummins is believed to be armed and driving a silver Nissan Rogue with Tennessee tag 976-ZPT. A warrant has been issued for Cummins for sexual contact with a minor and aggravated kidnapping.

Cummins has been added him to the state’s top 10 most wanted’ list. There is a $1,000 reward for information leading to his capture.

The TBI asks anyone with information to report it to 1-800-TBI-FIND or local law enforcement.
