FORT PAYNE, AL (WAFF) -

A DeKalb County teenager was arrested on drug distribution and other charges at Fort Payne High School.

Fort Payne police have released very few details about this incident.

At this point, police are not even saying whether or not he is a student at the school.

Michael Tray Buttram, 18, is charged with possession of  prescription drugs, drug paraphernalia, drug distribution, evidence tampering and promoting prison contraband.

The incident that led to his arrest happened on March 24. Fort Payne police say Buttram's arrest came after a short investigation by the school resource officer who got information of possible illegal drug activity.

No more details were released publicly, but according to court records, the drugs were Xanax, which is used to treat anxiety disorders, and nefazodone, an antidepressant.

Court records also reveal that Buttram tried to hide the evidence in his car, and it was the Xanax that contributed to the promoting prison contraband by taking the drug into the DeKalb County Jail.

Buttram's bond is set at $16,000.
