HAZEL GREEN, AL (WAFF) -

Authorities confirm a man was killed in a wreck in Hazel Green Wednesday afternoon.

Alabama State Troopers say a dump truck collided three other vehicles on U.S. 231 and Walls Drive near Kids Care.

A passenger in one of the vehicles hit by the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. The Madison County coroner's office and troopers identified him as 54-year-old Sidney E. Duckett of Fayetteville, Tennessee.

Duckett's wife was driving that vehicle. She was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.

Troopers say two other people from the other vehicles were injured too.

Scattered rain showers will linger this evening, especially east of I-65. There’s also a cold front still to our west that will move through the Valley with time overnight. Another round of heavier showers may develop along that front, but no severe weather is expected.
