ELKMONT, AL (WAFF) -

An arrest led to an uncommon plot twist...in the suspect's pants.

23-year-old Jesse O’Neal Roberts was arrested Tuesday morning at his home on Esten Lane in Elkmont after police received calls of a prowler.

Deputies found Roberts hanging out around his garage. They said they noticed he was impaired and arrested him on a public intoxication charge.

They also located Roberts’ truck in a ditch and found his wallet inside.

At the jail, one of the officers noticed something strange in Roberts’ walk.

While being searched, Roberts stumbled and a pistol fell right from his body cavity, according to deputies.

“I immediately considered that he defecated on himself before noticing a familiar shape in the form of a pistol in his boxers," said the corrections officer on duty.

"It happens," added Sheriff Mike Blakely.

Dispatchers checked the serial number and discovered that the firearm was stolen out of Florence.

Roberts was booked into the Limestone County Jail and faces charges of public intoxication, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, first-degree promoting prison contraband and fourth-degree receiving stolen property.

He’s currently being held on a $7,250 bond.
