JACKSON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - The Jackson County School Board is considering closing Paint Rock Valley School.
The board discussed the potential closure during a scheduled meeting on Thursday.
Paint Rock Valley, which is responsible for 76 students, is among the smallest K-12 schools in the state.
The board reports more than $350,000 will be required to replace an aging roof and purchase new kitchen equipment.
Closing the school would most likely mean students would alternatively attend Woodville or Skyline.
The future of the school is still up for discussion at this time.
