My Take - Helmets Help

If you've lived in Alabama or the south for any period of time, you've become accustomed to the words "safe place." When tornadoes are eminent, meteorologists such as the WAFF 48 First Alert Storm Team will tell you go to your "safe place" immediately. While you're in your "safe place" you'll best be served if you have your cell phone or Ipad with your free WAFF 48 Weather App downloaded. You might also want a weather radio or a portable television to keep you informed. You should also add another item to keep you and your family safer - a helmet. It doesn't matter if it's a baseball, football, motorcycle or bike helmet, just put it on. Research indicates that head injuries are the most common cause of tornado deaths. Keep protective head gear "top of mind" and "on top of your family's heads" this severe weather season when a threat is eminent. Anything that can reduce injuries or deaths during a storm is worth doing.
