(WAFF) - For those of us whose formative years were in the '80s and '90s, also known as the golden age of American mall culture, this sounds like a dream too good to be true.
But it is true.
The stay wouldn't be permanent, of course, but the Mall of America is looking for a Writer-in-Residence to spend five days "deeply immersed in Mall atmosphere."
The contest is part of the Mall of America's 25th birthday celebration, and they're looking for a talented writer to deliver "on-the-fly Impressions" while wandering the 5.6 million square feet that make up the Bloomington behemoth in Minnesota.
The winner will be put up in an on-site hotel and receive a $400 gift card to buy food and drinks. That's in addition to a "generous honorarium for the sweat and tears they'll put into their prose."
