The Limestone County Health Department gave Greenbrier Restaurant in Madison an 81 for its recent health inspection.

The health inspector reports witnessing bare hand contact with ready to eat food, which can cause cross contamination.

The inspector also reports there were hot food temperature issues at Greenbrier, with hamburger meat 24 degrees under the 135-degree temperature
needed to prevent bacterial growth, and pork that was 17 degrees off.

The restaurant also reportedly had damaged fryer baskets in use.

Damaged fryer baskets are also reported at Casa Blanca Mexican Restaurant on Highway 72 East in Athens, as they scored an 81. The inspector also reports that a close look at some drink nozzles revealed they needed to be cleaned.

The McDonald's in Harvest scored an 83. The Madison County Health Department reports three coolers weren't functioning properly, so food items in all of them were above the required cold-holding temperature.

When the inspector came back three days later, the three coolers, and the food temperature issues were fixed
