New bakery opens its doors in Providence

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - A brand new bakery just opened its doors in Huntsville. Edgar's Bakery is the newest addition to the expanding area of Providence.

Terry and Dottie Smith founded the bakery out of Birmingham, Alabama. Since first opening in 1998, Edgar's Bakery now has 7 locations across Alabama including five in Birmingham and one in Tuscaloosa.

Judd Leverette, Store Manager of the Huntsville location, said this location is one of several in the works for North Alabama.

Growth and the need of a good bakery helped with the choosing of the location for the eatery's latest location.

The restaurant offers breakfast all day and lunch after 10:30a until close at 8p. Doors open Monday through Saturday at 6:30a.

In the mood for something sweet? Edgar's offers a variety of choices from cookies, to cupcakes even cheesecakes and wedding cakes.

And don't forget the coffee! Leverette says Providence was in need of somewhere to grab a cup of joe and they're happy to offer just that.

Opening just in time for the holidays, check out the shop on your way out to find the perfect gift for someone.
