DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

The Cotton Cluster Dog Show is home to the big dogs, not big in stature but titles, according to Jean Hairston, the cluster chair and president of the Huntsville Kennel Club.

There are dogs that participate from all over the country - Canada, Mexico and Europe included.

Hairston says this event is a financial boom for the local economy.

"This week we'll bring in $750,000 close to a million dollars for Decatur and the surrounding areas. The hotels, the eateries they shop," said Hariston.

No autograph hounds in the ring but there are plenty of double dog dares to "Best of Show."

People like Celso Schneider love this event.

"This is a very good show. The judges are good. They have a nice competition. The place is very nice," said Schneider.

Every dog has their own personality.

And if you come for a visit, just to see the show, you might fall for a particular breed and have a case of 'puppy love'.

The event is held the second weekend in November each year. And sponsored by the Decatur Alabama Kennel Club, Inc. and Huntsville Kennel Club, Inc.
