Crime Stoppers: Physically challenged man steals wallet at Walmart

. -

In the 13 years I've been doing Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers, we've never had a physically challenged person suspected of a crime until now.

The physically challenged are entitled to equal treatment under the law as long as they abide by the law. But police say this person didn't.

We're highlighting the fact that this suspect is physically challenged because police believe it might be helpful in tracking him down.

He’s seen on surveillance video at the Walmart Neighborhood Market on Bailey Cove Road on Sept. 17.

Police say he has an amputated left leg and is seen in the store using a wheeled scooter to get around. And in this case, police say he stole from a customer.

Police say the victim left her wallet on the counter at a flower display. That's when they say this guy moved in and stole the credit card and left the store. In fact, we're told he took the woman's entire wallet.

And again, the fact that the suspect is missing a leg and getting around with a scooter hopefully will make him more recognizable.

Do you have any idea who he is? If you do, you can quickly and easily pocket up to $1,000 in reward money.

All you have to do is make the anonymous call to 256-53-Crime. You can also text or e-mail your anonymous tips. To see how, click the Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers link.
