Crime Stoppers: Man, woman spend with stolen money

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

All right, ladies. When you go to a restaurant and sit down to eat, what do you do with your purse?

As you'll see in this week's Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers, this "purse positioning" as you might call it, could come into play. In fact, it cost one woman several thousand dollars.

Surveillance cameras show a man and woman leaving a store in Huntsville. They did that quite a bit on a certain September day.

The catch here, as you might imagine, is that the money they were spending didn't belong to them. They were using stolen credit cards.

This all started here at the Cracker Barrel oat the corner of Drake Avenue and Memorial Parkway on Sept. 8.

Some women hang their purses on their chairs and some actually put it in the chair between their legs. This woman set her purse in the floor beside her.

The thief got in and stole all of her credit and debit cards and ID, racking up more than $10,000 in charges.

Again, we need your help finding the two people shown on surveillance camera. They're caught in the act during that quick and costly shopping spree.

Do you know who they are? Their crime could bring you an up to a $1,000 reward.

All you have to do is make the anonymous phone call with your tips to 256-53-Crime. If you'd prefer to text or e-mail your anonymous tips, go to click the Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers link to see how.
