HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A Shoals business is taking on a huge challenge this month to help folks fighting cancer.

University Auto Group has been a longtime supporter of the American Cancer Society. This year, the group has committed the largest gift ever, a sizeable donation of over $200,000.

“I am so excited that Mr. Brady and all seven dealerships have made such an astonishing commitment,” said Wanda NeSmith, American Cancer Society’s Gift of Hope Gala committee member. “This will make such a great impact on patient services.”

University Auto Family of Dealerships includes Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep Ram, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, Chevrolet/Buick/GMC, Honda and Nissan.

Their gift commitment comes from their pledge to donate $50 from every car sold in the month of October directly to the 2016 Gift of Hope Gala fundraiser.

“Unfortunately, we all have been affected directly or indirectly by cancer, and no one should have to face a cancer diagnosis alone,” said Kaki Morrow, Development Manager. “That’s why witnessing local support like this is so inspiring.”

The 2016 Gift of Hope will be held on December 15th at George’s 217 restaurants in Sheffield.

The University Auto Group will be the presenting sponsor, along with many other sponsors including Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, Shoals Hospital, and CB&S Bank.
