HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The Texaco Quik Stop in the 1000 block of Highway 72 West in Tuscumbia is this week's sole Kitchen Cops Low Performer, scoring a 75.

The Colbert County Health Department reports there was mold on a fountain drink diffuser, which is used to mix carbonated water with syrup.

The inspector also reports that deli sandwiches in a reach-in cooler were four degrees over the 41-degree temperature required for cold-holding food. They need to score an 85 or higher next time to get off the low performers' list.

The Burger King in Tuscumbia did just that, with three points to spare, with a reinspection score of 88. That is four points better than last time.

There are four Kitchen Cops High Performers this week. The staff at The Palace Ice Cream & Sandwich Shop in Tuscumbia kept it clean, scoring a near-perfect 99.

Three other high performers matched that score: The Dallas Mill Deli's mobile food unit out of Huntsville, the deli at the Publix on Winchester Road in Huntsville, and AFC Sushi at the Publix in Muscle Shoals.

David: Showers and storms ongoing across the Valley

    Saturday, March 25 2017 5:50 PM EDT2017-03-25 21:50:37 GMT

Showers and storms will be ongoing across the Valley this evening. The most widespread rain will be over northeastern AL, but additional scattered storms will track into the Shoals from the west. That round of stormy weather will head east with time and should be out of the Valley after midnight. The threat for severe storms is low, but a few strong storms are possible.
