AL man extradited to Florence to await murder trial

An Alabama man who was sentenced for the murder of a South Carolina man in 2014 was extradited to Florence Wednesday night.

Justin Butler was indicted in March of this year for the murder of Eric Watkins. Watkins was murdered on Marion Avenue in November of 2013. At the time of that indictment, Butler was in custody in South Carolina charged with a separate murder.

Officials tell us, Butler has since been sentenced in that case and was extradited back to Florence Wednesday night to await trial on the 2013 case in Florence.

    A two-vehicle crash Saturday claimed two lives.  Don Grissom Kimbrough, 63, of Tuscumbia, was killed when the 2015 Volkswagen he was driving collided with a 2003 Chevrolet driven by Philip Lee Pounders, 62, also of Tuscumbia.
