MUSCLE SHOALS, AL (WAFF) -

A Muscle Shoals woman accused of conspiring to kill her husband went before a judge Tuesday. The judge said probable causes exists, so the case will go to a grand jury.

Erica Fox faces a capital murder charge for her husband Jason's death on August 12, 2016. Tuesday's testimony was given from a lead investigator about Fox's affairs and her plans for her husband's death.

The Muscle Shoals detective presented the judge with statements from Fox, a cellmate, a coworker, and first responders. He also read text messages exchanged by Fox and Ronnie Credille and shared evidence from the crime scene.

Investigators believe she met up with Credille in a Florence restaurant parking lot the night before the murder. The detective also spoke about how Fox's story about her marital relationship kept changing. He said she first said their 18-year marriage had no problems then admitted to having multiple affairs for the past two years.

In a statement, Fox also told police she had a “gut feeling” Credille was going to murder her husband when she was told he was turning off his phone so it didn't get pinged.

A cellmate in the Lawrence County Jail gave police a statement saying Fox told her she directed Credille on where to be in the house to “ambush Jason” and also said when she got to the home she didn't check if he was breathing because she didn't care.

The detective went on to say there were signs the crime scene looked staged for a robbery or burglary.

The family said Tuesday's hearing was another hard day for them.
