MERIDIANVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Madison County deputies have arrested a man they say robbed a doughnut shop in Meridianville on Saturday.

The robbery was at K-May Doughnuts at 11041 U.S. 231. Employees said a man entered the business and ordered doughnuts. The suspect allegedly got into an altercation with the cashier while checking out, pulled a piece of what appeared to be a tire iron and stole an undetermined amount of cash.

Investigators were able to locate pictures of a suspect and a truck that helped identify Dustin Robert Tate, 42, as the suspect. The investigation continued over the weekend.

Tate was located on Tuesday afternoon and arrested. He is charged with first-degree robbery with a bond set at $50,000. He was then placed in the Madison County Jail.
