LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Influenza activity often begins to increase in the month of October. Most of the time flu activity peaks between December and March so now is the time to get you and your family to get your flu shot.

Everyone looking to get a flu shot in and around Limestone County can head to the drive-thru flu clinic facilitated by The Alabama Department of Public Health.

The clinic will run Wednesday, October 12th from 10:00am – 2:00pm at the Athens Sportsplex, 1403 US Highway 31, Athens, AL.

This is a legitimate drive-thru where you and your family don't even have to get out of your vehicle.

Officials with the drive-thru flu clinic will have about 600 shots on hand on a first come, first serve basis.

You will be asked to fill out all necessary medical paper work in your vehicle. The public is asked to pay a $2.00 fee, however, it is completely free to those with a Medicaid or Medicare card.

All vehicles can enter the Athens Sportsplex at the southeast entrance of Highway 31N.
