HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The availability of broadband speeds up to one gigabit per second from WOW! is now available for Huntsville.

The new speed from WOW! is available as a stand-alone service for $70 a month with a 2-year term agreement

"In both Auburn and Huntsville, we are already offering the highest speeds available with our 600Mbps Internet service. By enabling 1 Gig Internet over our existing Alabama coax plant, WOW! customers will be able to access the fastest Internet service from WOW!," said WOW! System Manager, Matt DeMuro.

The transition for existing Huntsville customers will only require a new modem.

WOW! announced back in August that they were bringing the service to their Huntsville market to compete with AT&T and Google.
