ALBERTVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Albertville fire officials are investigating two suspicious fires from the weekend.

The first took place around 2:30 a.m. Sunday off Highway 205. Fire officials say the home had no power and was vacant for approximately 10 years. It was a total loss.

The second fire happened just before 6 a.m. Monday at a home that was for sale on Davis Avenue. Fire officials say they're beginning their investigation looking into the garage, where they believe it first started.

They say both fores are very odd.

“Just because of the fact that we've had two structure fires in just a little over 24 hours. We're trying to just make sure that the two are not combined or tied together,” said Albertville Assistant Fire Chief Jason Beam.

Both fires remain under investigation.
