(WAFF) - Huntsville police are investigating a shooting after pulling a vehicle over on Governors Drive. Police say they pulled the vehicle over for speeding when they found out the passenger had been shot. The driver of the car was attempting to get the victim to the hospital.
Heavy rainfall and tropical force winds were felt as Hurricane Matthew moved north along Florida's east coast early Friday morning. The hurricane is moving northwest at 13 mph with maximum sustained winds of 120 mph and it is located about 40 miles east-southeast of Cape Canaveral, FL. Evacuations have been ordered for almost 2 million people in the path of the Category 3 hurricane, as it threatens to be one of the most dangerous storms in recent history.
A truck traveling west on Sparkman Drive collided with a utility pole in front of the Huntsville Police Department Training Academy. Two people were in the truck.
