Huntsville police investigating shooting, man in serious condition

Huntsville police are investigating a shooting after pulling a vehicle over on Governors Drive. Police say they pulled the vehicle over for speeding when they found out the passenger had been shot. The driver of the car was attempting to get the victim to the hospital.

Hurricane Matthew hugging Florida's coastline

Heavy rainfall and tropical force winds were felt as Hurricane Matthew moved north along Florida’s east coast early Friday morning. The hurricane is moving northwest at 13 mph with maximum sustained winds of 120 mph and it is located about 40 miles east-southeast of Cape Canaveral, FL. Evacuations have been ordered for almost 2 million people in the path of the Category 3 hurricane, as it threatens to be one of the most dangerous storms in recent history.

1 injured after truck collides with utility pole 

A truck traveling west on Sparkman Drive collided with a utility pole in front of the Huntsville Police Department Training Academy. Two people were in the truck. 

Plenty of sunshine with highs into the upper 80s

We’re starting this morning with a mix of the mid-50s to lower 60s. Skies are clear, which means you can expect plenty of sunshine this morning as well as a quick warm-up. We should be around 80° at Noon with highs into the upper 80s once again.  This should be our last warm day with a high close to 90° a cold front will move through the Valley early Saturday.

    Showers and storms will be ongoing across the Valley this evening. The most widespread rain will be over northeastern AL, but additional scattered storms will track into the Shoals from the west. That round of stormy weather will head east with time and should be out of the Valley after midnight. The threat for severe storms is low, but a few strong storms are possible.

    The Guntersville Police Department have released news details on a double shooting late Friday afternoon that left one man dead.

    The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m., when police from multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a 911 call reporting two people had been shot on Edmonds Road.
