AUBURN, AL (WAFF) - Auburn's defense has carried the day thus far after five games. Saturday, the unit will hope to slow down Mississippi State.
The Bulldogs have beaten the Tigers two straight seasons. One key for the Tigers' defense thus far has been the play of Montravious Adams. The senior from Vienna, Georgia has 15 total tackles, four tackles for loss, and two and a half sacks all from a position where he normally takes on opposing double teams.
"He's commanding double teams and making sure they better keep two guys on him," Auburn defensive coordinator Kevin Steele said this week. "If they don't, he will affect where the ball carrier has to go, if not to the ground. He's continued to do it and has gotten better each game."
Auburn's televised game with Mississippi State has been moved from the SEC Network to ESPN. Kickoff is slated for 11 a.m. CT. The move is because of the postponement of the LSU Florida game because of Hurricane Matthew.
