JACKSONVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Noah Click is a Marine who will be deploying soon.

He didn't want to leave without first proposing to his girlfriend of a year and a few months, Lauren Collett. He set up a date and told Lauren they were going to be taking pre-deployment pictures with the family.

Lauren says one of her best friends from high school introduced them shortly after graduating. They met 37 days before he left for boot camp. While he was gone to boot camp they wrote each other letters every single day.

Because of Noah's job and everywhere he travels they have gone many weeks and months without being able to speak to one another but Lauren says that always find a way to make it work and because of this their love has only grown stronger.

"The very first moment I knew I was going to spend the rest of my life with her, we were at a bonfire at a friend's house and we just kissed and it was magic from then," says Noah. "Lauren, she is just my best friend. She is the one I want to spend the rest of my life with. I love everything about her. She is perfect."

While taking photos, Lauren is front and center with Noah in the background. While she is looking at the camera smiling he drops down on one knee. She turns around and sees what's going on.

"I had no idea he was going to do this before he left and I'm just honestly really glad he did just because it's just the fact of knowing that he is coming back to me to spend the rest of his life with me and just knowing we are going to have this life together when he gets back," says Lauren. "It's going to be really hard. It's going to be a tough struggle for the next however many months he is gone. But I know we will make it through and whenever he gets back we will be ready to go."
