Municipal runoff elections in Madison and Morgan counties

On October 4, voters will cast their ballots in runoff elections in cities throughout North Alabama. In the August 23 general election, none of the candidates in the runoff races gained 50% or more of the votes.

Hurricane Matthew threatens Haiti, Jamaica

A hurricane warning is in effect for Jamaica, Haiti and parts of Cuba as Hurricane Matthew, now a category four storm, rages in the Caribbean. Matthew could strike Jamaica and Haiti within the next few days.

Sunny with temperatures in low/mid-80s for Monday

We’re starting this morning with clear skies, so you’ll see a fair amount of sunshine into the afternoon. A few foggy spots are possible through around 9 a.m.  Temperatures are generally in the mid-50s but will warm up quickly. We should be into the upper 70s by noon with highs in the low/mid-80s.
