Crime Stoppers: Man shops with fake IDs, credit cards

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Time is a funny thing. Sometimes it works for you. Sometimes it works against you.

In this week's Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers, the crook has very limited time on the run all because of an expensive time piece.

We have a picture we assume our thief used to steal more than $18,000 worth of merchandise by using his victim's personal information to create false IDs and credit cards.

But when this crook showed up at the Loring and Company Jewelers on Airport Road, his time ran out.

This guy tried to illegally purchase an expensive Rolex watch. The clerk got suspicious. The crook got nervous and he ran.

We do have a couple of surveillance pictures of this guy as he quickly left the store after he was questioned about his credentials. But the best shot is the one he was apparently trying to use to steal that watch. He left behind what looks like a driver's license photo.

This guy's making it easy for you. It's time for the clock to strike midnight on his run from the law.

Do you have any idea who he is? That's the up to $1,000 question.

If you can lead us to him, you can pocket that reward. Just make the anonymous phone call to 256-53-Crime. Or if you'd prefer to anonymously text or e-mail your tips, click the Crime Stoppers tab at waff.com.
