Leighton man dies after weekend motorcycle wreck

FRANKLIN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Alabama State Troopers say a Leighton man has died from his injuries from a motorcycle wreck in Franklin County.

Troopers say Tommy Elton McDonald, 62, was seriously injured when the 1979 Yamaha motorcycle he was operating left the roadway and struck a ditch  shortly before 11 a.m. Saturday. It happened on Franklin County 48 about seven miles southeast of Littleville.

McDonald was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham. He died at the hospital shortly before 6 p.m. Monday.

Troopers continue to investigate.
