Decatur police say Tuesday afternoon's standoff has ended peacefully.

Police were responding to a man barricaded inside his girlfriend's home in the 2000 block of Parkplace Street near Point Mallard Drive.

Police confirmed the suspect surrendered shortly after 5 p.m. His name and charges have not yet been announced.

Officers say the initial call was about a domestic disturbance between the boyfriend and girlfriend earlier in the afternoon. The girlfriend left and called police.

It was initially called in that he had a gun. Officers could not confirm that after the standoff ended.
