Oakwood University career fair opens doors for students

A career fair in Huntsville on Monday may send more people into the work force.

Oakwood University hosted its annual career fair for students and the community. College students attended the career fair with the mentality to make a first and lasting impression.

More than 30 employers were on hand to interact with students and community members. Some employers even had jobs available for hire at the event. There were on-site interviews and resume critiques.

Oakwood University Career Services testing director Verneice Wright says the career fair is a great way for people to network and see what it takes to the land their dream job.

"Well, it gives them information. It lets them connect with employers. It lets them know exactly what they need to do in order to be that kind of employer they are looking for outside in the industry today," Wright said.

Redstone Arsenal personnel say they have internships and a Pathway program to bring students on board while they're still in college.
