Morning Headlines: Protests erupt after fatal officer-involved shooting in NE Charlotte

Suspect in NYC, NJ bombings arrested, charged with attempted murder

Law enforcement officials have arrested the man wanted for questioning in relation to bombs that went off in New York and New Jersey this past weekend, according to police in Linden, NJ. Police were involved in a shootout with the man, 28-year-old Ahmad Khan Rahami, on Monday morning before taking him into custody. He has been charged with attempted murder after firing at the officers.

Highs today push into the low/mid-90s

It’s another comfortably cool start to the day. We’re in the low/mid-60s for the most part, although a few of our cooler spots are in the upper 50s this morning.  Look for a quick warm-up under mostly sunny skies. Highs today push into the low/mid-90s. 

Protests erupt after fatal officer-involved shooting in NE Charlotte

Protests continued Wednesday morning following an officer-involved shooting that left a man dead in northeast Charlotte Tuesday night. Hours after the deadly shooting, a large crowd had gathered near the scene in protest, sparking clashes with police and tear gas being deployed.

    The Guntersville Police Department have released news details on a double shooting late Friday afternoon that left one man dead.

    The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m., when police from multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a 911 call reporting two people had been shot on Edmonds Road.
