UPDATE: Etowah Co. deputies capture armed robbery suspect

ETOWAH COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Etowah County Sheriff's Office investigators and deputies have captured a man wanted in a robbery, according to the office of Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

Investigators released a statement around 3:45 p.m. Saturday that they were searching for 50-year-old Kerry James Calhoun of Gadsden, a suspect in a first-degree robbery.  They reported he was considered armed and dangerous.

Calhoun is a Black male with brown eyes, no hair, is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 215 pounds.  

He reportedly robbed a Kangaroo Express Station on Rainbow Drive, early Saturday morning and is believed to be armed and dangerous. Investigators say he is driving a white 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser with a disable veterans tag #V79213.

Calhoun is also a suspect in another robbery that occurred earlier in Glencoe.

His bond has been set at $50,000.
