Amid tighter race, Clinton and Trump trade barbs over health

Hillary Clinton returned to campaigning without offering apologies for keeping her pneumonia a secret, focusing on criticizing opponent Donald Trump instead of how she handled her health problem and the three-day rest ordered by her doctor.

Brain cancer now leading childhood cancer killer

Brain cancer is now the deadliest childhood cancer in the U.S., now ahead of leukemia, a result of improved leukemia treatment and a frustrating lack of progress on brain cancer. Government statisticians reported the change in rankings Friday, drawing from a review of 15 years of death certificates.

Highs will push into the low/mid 90s with isolated storms

We’re starting this morning like many others this week with a mix of the upper-60s and lower 70s under mainly clear skies. There could be a few foggy spots where heavy rain fell yesterday, but nothing too widespread. Fog will be gone by 9 a.m. and we’ll see mostly sunny skies this morning.

    Our news gathering partner at the Decatur Times Daily reports the city of Sheffield in Colbert County is dealing with a staffing shortage in their fire department.  Fire Chief Dewey King, who is also the city's public safety director, says that low wages are contributing to a high turnover rate.
