Crime Stoppers: Thief steals woman's phone at Wal-Mart

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Do you remember the childhood saying "finders keepers, losers weepers"? As you'll see in this week's Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers, that childhood saying doesn't apply when it comes to the law.

The woman wearing the red top in the video is the victim in this week's story. On June 5, she set her smartphone down on the counter at the Wal-Mart on Madison Boulevard in Madison. She completed her transaction and exited the store but left the phone behind.

The suspect walked up and completed his transaction. He spotted that phone in the process but left without it.

Another customer saw the phone and turned it in to the clerk. Right about that time, the thief came back to say that phone is his. He took it and left.

Moments later, the victim returned after realizing she left it behind. And she was devastated when told her phone was gone.

Here's where you come in. You can help us solve this phone theft by using your phone to earn up to $1,000. That's the reward money on the table if you know who this crook is.
