Brothers battle on opposite sidelines Friday Night

TANNER, AL (WAFF) - The High School football season heads into week one starting Thursday night. On Friday, one game will feature two brothers as Head Coaches on opposite sidelines.

LaRon White of Tanner High School will host his younger brother and the Jaguars of Mae Jemison. It will be an awesome atmosphere Friday night, as both programs battle for their first win of the season.

"It's gonna be fun," Kelvis White said during practice Wednesday. "LaRon is my older brother, and my role model, he's older than me and always looked up to him. He runs a championship program over there so, we definitely try to emulate some of things that he's done. At the end of the day, I told these kids, It's not about me or my brother, It's about going out, playing well and preparing for the next opponent."

Tanner hasn't loss back to back games in a season since 2007. Kelvis understands the challenge, even if his brother tries to tell him otherwise.

"LaRon runs a championship program, he's a very intelligent football coach. It's gonna be fun, It's gonna be fun. He's called me every day poor mouthing, saying don't beat them up too bad. It's not gonna be that way, It's gonna be a great football game, and hopefully we have a chance to win."

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Rip Swanner Stadium.
