Alabama municipal elections FAQs

Tuesday is a municipal election, not a presidential or state election, so federal offices and issues like the lottery will not be on the ballot, that's in November. Today's election is all about mayors, council members, and school board seats.

Shields Road closing for several weeks due to construction project

Tuesday morning crews from the city of Huntsville will begin repairs to a section of road near the Shields Road bridge until the project is complete the road will be closed from Jordan Road to U.S. Highway 72.
