Miller ready for opportunity in Auburn backfield

AUBURN, AL (WAFF) - First, Roc Thomas. Next, Jovon  Robinson. These were two running backs Auburn was counting on to become focal points in the Tigers backfield. With Thomas transferring to Jacksonville State and Robinson, who was dismissed at the start of Fall Camp and enrolled at Valdosta State, the Tigers will have a youth movement at that position.

Kamryn Pettway, Kerryon Johnson, and Malik Miller will all get opportunities to produce. Johnson and Miller both grew up and played together at Madison Academy, before heading to the Plains. Miller, a true freshman, enrolled early to take part in Spring practice. Miller excited to compete and reunite with his high school teammate.

"We've known each other for a very long time," Miller said after Saturday's practice.  "Our brothers played together, we've always been competing with each other, but at the end of the day we're gonna be friends. Being here with Coach Russell and the coaching staff, I've feel better than I have really in my whole life."
